The re-energised Miss Barbados World brand and franchise, under the mantra “Celebrating our Barbadian Women”, officially launched its stellar throng of delegates on July 1 at the exquisite Gallery NuEdge at Limegrove Lifestyle Center, Holetown, St. James. The organization’s esteemed sponsors, The Barbados Tourism Authority, Diamonds International, The Hilton Barbados and Starcom Network, along with specially invited guests, friends and family were all in attendance to meet the delegates and share in the brand’s new vision.
Franchise holder, Leah Marville in her address voiced, “It is time we as Barbadians, step up and celebrate our national pride and people on the Miss World stage. I believe we can get there, but we need your help and belief that we can achieve this. We cannot bring home the Miss World crown without your support.” Guest speakers the Honourable Dr. Esther Byer-Suckoo and Mr. Keith Miller of Miller Publishing, were also potent in their words of encouragement and ambassadorship to the delegates, urging them to grasp the grand opportunity that is awarded to them.
Marville also highlighted that the delegates have commenced rigorous training and developmental classes, which seek to foster model citizens who will continue on – whether win or lose – to be quality Barbadian representatives in their everyday lives. The Miss Barbados World show will be held on August 28th at the five-star Hilton Hotel in St. Michael.
